MCA and Gerakan unhappy Umno singled out as prime threat to democracy?

DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng singled out Umno as the main target for the coming election. He became the key target of attacks by BN top-guns.
Guan Eng had said every vote — and potential victory — given to MCA, Gerakan and MIC is an endorsement of UMNO’s dominance, divisive and discriminatory policies to perpetuate […]

So, what made him jump ship?

“I decided to join DAP in July last year as I’ve been frustrated that Malaysia isn’t seeing any success in the areas of improving governance, fighting corruption and enhancing national unity,” he said.

Penang’s future: Jeff Ooi & Jelutong MP

PARLIAMENT Comments (3)

Umno is to be blamed for the present downturn in economy in Penang, that’s the gist of my thoughts during Agendakini’s debut video-taping on current issues.

I was of the opinion that Umno’s hands were seen in many of the policy initiatives that have to come from the federal level to the state.

The rapid-fire discussion was the first in a series called Agendakini to be broadcast by Malaysiakini.tv. We had three Penang lang — BN/Gerakan’s member of parliament for Jelutong Lee Kah Choon, independent political analyst Khoo Kay Peng, and this blogger — to discuss issues related to the general election and Penang’s future.

The roundtable session was moderated by Malaysiakini’s CEO Premesh Chandran.
